Christmas Distraction

In Lieu of posting nothing during our Holiday Hiatus, let me present my first dabbling in HD video. I just recently bought a new camera and had to bring it with me when Andrew and I went on our semi-annual hike. This was taken the day after our first Winter storm, and even though we only got sleet and freezing rain in NYC, it is clear nothing but the white stuff fell on the Minnewaska State Preserve. A Winter Wonderland indeed. Please enjoy responsibly.

Vicar in a Tutu

It all started with a craigslist ad several months ago. A new camera, a very reluctant Rob Alexander, and one weekend of filmmaking later, the Vicar in a Tutu video was born. It got such a great response at GiGi’s Singalong, that I had to post it. Sorry Rob, but you’re a star. Please enjoy responsibly.

March and Chant

My apologies to Annie Lennox.

Sometimes the most idiotic things make us happy (while under the influence). Marching and Chanting is one of those things.

A little history… For years people would March and Chant separately without ever considering doing them together. One fine day on a boat somewhere in the Carribbean, Jeana Ricci Gelston-Briggs brought them together. Like getting chocolate in her peanut butter, the two acts just seemed to go together. Since then, no one can really remember a time when the two weren’t done simultaneously.

The ritualistic dance has since swept the Northeast, and, as this video shows, is starting to catch on in Latin America (more specifically, Costa Rica). I can only hope that the rest of the World will see this video and revel in the joy of Marching and Chanting.

Watch, study, practice, and please enjoy responsibly.

Costa Rican Sunset

A quick break from the Ecuador Chronicles today. As you may know, my camera broke recently and I used a friend’s old Digital 8 handicam when I went to Costa Rica this January. I didn’t shoot that much and its been a bit of a pain to convert, but today’s post is purely for all the members of Smearsie’s Halfy Hour…I hope this satisfies you until the premiere of the “March & Chant, Broken Glass” music video.

The rest of you are also encouraged to enjoy a quick little 3 minute vacation, but please enjoy responsibly.

The Garcia Wedding

So, yet again, its been a while since I last posted. The past few months have been full of surprises, but I finally had the time on a lazy Sunday to put together a new episode of everyone’s favorite online series. If this were an episode of “Friends” , it would be titled “The One Where Everyone Dances…Everyone”

A few short notes:

First, I had to disable the comments because I was getting bombarded with spammers. Until I figure a way to fix that, email me with any comments you have. danhoule@gmail.com

Secondly, I formatted the video a little differently this time. The file is a little bigger than usual. OK, a lot bigger than usual. Nevertheless, it should be ready to play on your video ipod if you subscribed to the rss feed. I’ll come up with a more suitable size next time.

In the meantime, please enjoy responsibly…
